About Nate Leslie

Certified Executive Coaching’s value began to lure me in around 2008 after completing a Master’s Degree in International Education in Madrid, Spain. At the time I was teaching and coaching multiple sports in New York City. The program’s foundation focused on ‘inquiry based learning’: teaching through inquiry (asking questions) and exploring ideas rather than teaching facts. You may see the connection. I speak English, German, Swiss German, & French. My Spanish gets me by in a pinch. I played 7 years of professional hockey in Europe and my adventures have led me to nearly 40 countries around the world. I have helped shape the future of youth ice hockey in many interesting parts of the world including Mongolia, New Zealand, Manhattan, and in my home province of British Columbia.

My careers as a professional athlete, educator, and sport development entrepreneur have led me to a rewarding career in Certified Executive Coaching and Leadership Development. I’m honoured to be in service of others, helping leaders aspire to be their best and most effective selves. I am a Certified Executive Coach (CEC) from Royal Roads University, and an Associate Certified Coach (ACC) in good standing with the International Coach Federation. I’m also a SupportingLines Certified Coach skilled in implementing and supporting leadership development through our High Performance Index & Framework. When not executive coaching I’m leading 200+ great people at Leslie Global Sports the West Coast Hockey Prep Camp.

My former life as a professional hockey player solidified values of team, professionalism, and dedication. I’m a lifelong learner, love helping drive initiatives from good to great. I get excited envisioning what the future may bring while cherishing the present. I’m privileged to coach people and teams and strive to be in service of others through a supportive, insightful, and innovative approach.I find great fulfillment in helping leaders and transitioning professionals amplify clarity & results in leadership and life. Past Adventures

Take a peek inside my world

I’ve lived a life of adventure, achievement, and defeat. I owe a vast majority of the highs and the lows to hockey. I’ve played in one of the best pro leagues in the world, and arguably one of the worst. Pro hockey gave me incredible memories but also lows that threatened my love of the game. In 1 hockey season I went from nearly playing in the Spengler Cup to earning $1/hour in a New York City restaurant job (under the table like everyone else). With challenge comes adversity, and opportunities for growth.

In my freetime I’ve watched the sun set on Mount Everest from 19’000 feet, run out of oxygen scuba diving (more than once), slept in an active volcano, and forgot all the lyrics to a song in my first official gig on stage. I facilitate personal and professional growth of my individual and organizational clients. I am here to serve you in pursuing your highest potential.
