I highly recommend The Complete Season, Hockey Drills, Small Area Games, and Hockey Goalie Drills for all youth hockey coaches. Boe and Nate Leslie have created a unique system of coach and player mentorship. I’ve enjoyed watching them develop their coaching business with the same professionalism and passion they brought to the game as players.” Andy Murray, 2011 IIHF Hall of Fame Inductee, 2009 NHL Jack Adams Coach of the Year Finalist, Head Coach University of Western Michigan
The Complete Season is a great tool for any youth hockey coach. The skills and systems are taught through structured practices based on a skills curriculum, ice and time management. The practices are competitive, fun, and players will improve.”- Dean Evason, former Assistant Coach, Washington Capitals, NHL
You clearly have a passion for the game, a passion for coaching, and (most importantly) are a great teacher who knows how to break things down into simple bite size chunks that are core points to work around with a team, and translate well to the ice (and dressing room). Keep up the good work! I coach my son’s Atom House League team in Ottawa. This is my second year as head coach and I found your lgsports.ca site last year just via googling… spent a lot of time last year getting up to speed with many online videos and resources. Your site was excellent and I bought your small ice games package and your half ice season plan. Both were excellent and gave me ideas to work from. The reality of half-ice practices for us in non-rural Canada is there and having some half-ice ideas was great.” Coach Warren, Nepean Minor Hockey Association
Hi Nate: I thought I would write to say what a great time the kids had at your Victoria Hockey School last week. It was great to meet Boe and see both your wives and kids. I talked to another parent last night whose son was in your camp earlier in the month in at the Richmond Olympic Oval. He said how great the camp was and how well you relate to the kids. Both boys are in rep prep camp this week with try-outs starting Monday. They both look really confident on the ice and are doing well at the rep prep camps. They have really benefited from all of the work you have done with them over the last 2 and ½ years so thanks a lot.” – Paul Henderson, Vancouver BC
I wanted to give some coaching feedback on Nate Leslie and his colleague Mike Sommer. This was the best pro coaching experience the 2004 Warriors have had this season. It was the most connected and engaged my players have been with any of the pro coaches and the feedback from players and parents was unanimously positive. He was great with both my top kids and my challenging ones and was able to run some innovative and challenging drills that were competitive and skill based, and they really had the kids attention even after school! Several parents asked if we could get Nate again! He was outstanding. If there is an option to get him out again for the remaining ice times, 2004 would welcome him for sure. Thanks.” – Coach Sam, Vancouver Warriors Spring Hockey Program, Vancouver, BC
Having Nate and Boe run a camp for our Queenstown Ice Hockey Club was a tremendous success. They were extremely professional in all aspects and passed on valuable knowledge to our coaches. The players are still talking about how much they enjoyed the camp. We look forward to having them back”. – Ross Burns, President Queenstown Ice Hockey Club, New Zealand
After attending Nate’s Whistler Summer Hockey Camp for Women, I was so impressed by his coaching style that I recruited him to come and help coach my women’s rec team in Whistler that season. Later, after relocating to New Zealand, I decided to call on Nate and his brother Boe to come and bring some of their hockey expertise to the Southern hemisphere. After a year of coordinating and much anticipation, they ran a week of various clinics and camps in Queenstown and they certainly didn’t disappoint! All who attended their clinics, myself included, were blown away by Nate and Boe’s progressive coaching techniques, tips and tricks, all combined with an innate ability to adjust their coaching style to the needs of the individual or team at hand. Their professionalism yet down to earth and approachable manner made for a truly fun and educational hockey experience for players of all ages and abilities. The hockey club was so impressed that they’ve decided to make the Leslie camps an annual event. Thanks so much Nate and Boe for helping grow the sport of hockey in all parts of the world! – Tree Clinton, Queenstown New Zealand
Ben has made one of the rep teams. He was really excited when he found out yesterday. It seems your fantastic coaching has advanced Ben. Your coaching has really made a huge difference in Ben’s skill and his attitude so thanks so much. I watch a lot of the specific skills he has developed and I think how the skills have come directly from the work you have done with him. – Paul Henderson, Vancouver, BC
The coaching manual from Leslie Global Sports will be a great benefit to all youth hockey organizations. Boe and Nate have a lot of experience in youth hockey development and it shows in their attention to skill development and practice plans. I highly recommend the use of The Complete Season. – Doug Roberts, former NHL player, 24 year Connecticut College NCAA coach, Stanley Cup Champion
Thank you for the opportunity to attend your camp in Port Alberni. It was the most fantastic ice hockey camp I have been to. I have taken away many new skills which I plan to implement in my future hockey career. I made a lot of new friends and plan to stay in contact with them hopefully meeting up again in Canada some time. Looking forward to having you back here in Queenstown next year and learning more from you. – Callum Burns, Queenstown New Zealand, U18 National Team Player
Being a first year coach for a squirt travel team has made me try to clear the cobwebs for all of those drills from too many years ago. The drill and play books I bought were designed for full ice practices and not the half ice slots that I am given. The LGS coaching manual provides quick and easy-to-read full practice outlines for every session. The manual is an invaluable tool that results in fun and engaging practices every time! I highly recommend this manual without reservation to any minor league hockey coach! – Rob Snow, Baltimore Youth Hockey
Nathan Leslie was awesome with the kids and he taught them proper technique.” – Vancouver Minor Hockey H1 parent
Nate Leslie is helping Vancouver Minor Hockey novice players and their coaches fall in love with hockey. By combining creative skill development, fun team play drills, and the most friendly face in lower mainland hockey instruction, Nate brings the game of hockey back to its basic ‘pond hockey’ fun loving roots.” – David Wallace, Vancouver Minor Hockey father and coach
I wanted to let you know that this summer Paul and James attended a one-week hockey camp that in no way compared to the experience that they enjoyed with you. They are already talking about attending your camp this June and I am thinking that I will sign up Annelise as well.” – Colleen Pizzitola, New York City, NY
“Your coaching and love of the game made a huge impact on my son. I can’t keep him off the ice now! Thank you for everything and good luck. You will be missed.” – Veronica Ellis, New York City, NY
Nate has helped me and my teammates improve our hockey skills. I like his coaching/ teaching style. He is very clear and easy to understand. Before my hockey game, I always watch Nate’s chalk talk videos. This helps me get mentally prepared for the game. I find that I play with more focus, confidence and I have much more fun!!” – Nikki Caswell, Whistler
